Chris Culligan named director of hockey operations for Rush

The Sydney Mitsubishi Rush have named Chris Culligan as the team's director of hockey operations for the upcoming hockey season.

"It’s something where I’m able to have a say in the decisions that are made and it’s important to me that this program, now the Sydney Mitsubishi Rush, keeps growing and developing our players," said Culligan, who was the team's assistant coach last season.

"I want our players to have better opportunities to succeed than I did when I came through the major midget program. It’s all about continuous improvement."

Culligan, who was named the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles assistant coach last month, said the Screaming Eagles are his first priority and admits it's been a goal of his since he retired from playing hockey.

The Sydney Mitsubishi Rush will begin the 2019-20 Nova Scotia Eastlink Major Midget Hockey League season in September.
